A native of Colorado, Barbara Samuel is passionate traveler, hiker and outdoor woman who has made her way by writing since she was eighteen. She loves nothing more than heading out in the soft quiet of a pink dawn to take off for far away shores or the trailhead of a mountain. She walks and hikes, teaches and writes, and considers herself amazingly blessed.
A novelist with more than 30 books to her credit, Barbara put herself through university on writing scholarships, and wrote newspaper articles, columns and opinion before settling in with an ancient IBM typewriter to write fiction. She sold her first novel in her twenties, and has since won a plethora of awards, including two Colorado Book Awards, five RITAs, and a Best Book of the Year mention from Library Journal. She writes mainstream fiction under her own name and romances as Ruth Wind. Her current novels include LADY LUCK’S MAP OF VEGAS and MADAME MIRABOU’S SCHOOL OF LOVE.
